Stone committed to Appalachian State in February. “Tre is a true three-down linebacker and the general of our defense,” Bulldogs coach Jonathan Chandler said. “He’s one of the leaders of our football team and does an outstanding job of getting everyone lined up and playing fast. He plays physical, has a high football IQ and is a dependable playmaker against both the run and pass. My expectations for Tre this season are for him to continue leading our defense and help guide us on another deep playoff run. He’s the type of teammate who leads by example every day through his work ethic, toughness and accountability.”
