King is No. 22 in ’ composite rankings of the state’s class of 2028 and holds more than 20 college offers, including from Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Oregon and Stanford. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back recorded 45 tackles, 29 solo tackles, 16 assists and four pass breakups in 2025. The two-time 7A state champion runs a 4.3-second 40-yard dash and comes from a football family — his grandfather and father played for Alabama under Bear Bryant and Nick Saban. “The only sophomore starter for us last season, Eli burst onto the scene in a big way last year with four interceptions and established himself as one of the best defensive backs in the 2028 class,” Warriors coach Mark Freeman said. “He brings an infectious energy to the game. He’s a student of the game, and aside from his dynamic athletic ability, his football IQ is through the roof.”
